No, the probe is its own hotspot (which is crucial in urgent, mobile critical care settings, such as on helicopters and ambulances). The only time Wi-Fi is needed is for sending or transferring images.

No, there is no subscription plan associated with this probe. All costs are at the time of purchase. Any app updates will happen through the typical update pattern in the App Store.

How can I share and store data?

The TE Air e5M supports seamless data sharing. Images and cine loops can be exported in standard formats (JPG and MP4), and it integrates with DICOM 3.0 (Store, Media Exchange, Worklist); as well as third-party solutions like Q-path, Tricefy cloud, and shared PC folders. Data encryption is built in, with no subscriptions, locked features, or cloud dependence.

How does DICOM / PACS work?

DICOM comes standard with the TE AIR and is not billed as an option. The device is DICOM 3.0 compliant and supports Verification (C-ECHO), US Image Storage, US Multiframe Image Storage, Enhanced US Volume Storage, Modality Worklist (C-FIND), Modality Performed Procedure Step, and Storage Commitment.

In practice: you retrieve a worklist from the RIS and send images and cines to the PACS, automatically when ending a study or manually per image. If the network drops, the device keeps a queue and automatically resends once the connection is restored. The system follows the IHE profiles SWF, PDI, and ED; TLS 1.2 is supported. Besides DICOM, Q-path, Tricefy, and shared network folders are also possible.

What we cannot do for you is the integration itself: connecting to your hospital's PACS requires coordination with your IT department. We are happy to provide you with the DICOM Conformance Statement and the necessary technical documentation.

IT checklist:
• AE Titles: register the TE AIR as a DICOM SCU/SCP with a unique AE Title for worklist, storage, and storage commitment.
• Ports: standard DICOM ports 104 (or 11112/2762 depending on the hospital) must be open between the tablet and PACS/RIS.
• Firewall rules: allow bidirectional traffic from the tablet subnet to the PACS IP and RIS IP on the DICOM ports; test C-ECHO after activation.
• Tablet network access: the tablet receives an IP on the hospital network (wifi or wired) with reachability to PACS/RIS; proxy/VPN is not supported by the TE AIR app.

How long does it take to charge the probe, and what are the options?

The TE Air e5M and iP3 Systems can be charged with its USB Magnetic Transducer Charging Cable or via the Air Capsule. Using fast cable charging, the probe charges from 0 to 90% in about 35 minutes.

The TE Air e5M and iP3 Systems feature IP68 level waterproof and dustproof design and can withstand complete immersion with compatible disinfectants. Please refer to the complete disinfection manual for more details.

Standard warranty includes the following, which begins upon system shipment: 1-year coverage on the wireless transducer (normal wear and failure), one-year coverage on accessories (USB charging cable, Air Capsule, etc.). Standard three (3) year warranty is available as an option.

Though the TE Air e5M appears to have a linear footprint, depending on the preset you choose, this handheld is powered by Mindray's Matrix Thin Slice technology, which provides broader frequency bandwidth compared to traditional probes. The probe will switch between linear and convex settings to scan head to toe without the need to switch probes.
